The MoEF vide letter no. 3-4/2004-RT dated September 13, 2004 had requested comments of the state governments on the proposal to organize promotion linked compulsory training course for the promoted SFS officers. To ensure full participation, it has been decided to make these course(s) compulsory for which the concerned 'Recruitment Rules' for the SFS Officers will have to be amended by the State/UT Governments. A copy of the proposed course contents has also been forwarded to the state governments.
2 Thirteen state governments and one UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands have agreed to organizing courses for their officers by the GOI and amend the recruitment rules accordingly. The MoEF, GoI vide No. 3-4/2004-RT dated July 5, 2005 have intimated the state governments about the decision to organize course(s) for the promoted SFS officers and requested states to amend their recruitment rules. First such course is proposed to be organised during January-February 2006.
