The MoEF has initiated a proposal on ‘Professionalizing the Forest Service’ with objective of providing opportunities to foresters to undertake advanced studies in the fields of their interests, build database on all aspects of management of forestry, wildlife and environment and build database of experts in various fields concerning forestry and wildlife. Vide letter dated October 31, 2005, PCCFs have been requested to initiate action in this regard at the state levels. It has been decided to host a website for ‘Knowledge Management’ at IGNFA, Dehradun.
